I was wondering what to do for my next Halloween shirt when a cute little bat found his way into my stairwell! It was over 90˚ there, and the poor guy was out like a light.

Bats, like ninja, are mammals. They also eat mosquitoes and many other insects we have quite enough of in Minnesota, thank you. So here's to you, Batty! Your very own shirt!

Even for those who survived the Big War, it took years before their lives settled into any sort of routine. Even then, one had to be on constant guard against the radioactive monstrosities which roamed the land. Of all the dangers, none was more fearsome than the Zombie Cow.

In other news, the legend of Mechanical Squirrel grows! He was selected as the July 16th T-Shirt of the Day at Lamp8.com. A big thanks for the props! They have quite a few great designs of their own, so check them out.

Maybe it's true or maybe it's not, but I like to think that the thousands of slimes I've killed over the years have gone to some sort of 'slime heaven'. After all, they're so darn cute! Maybe someday I'll reach a higher level and start to fight something... less good natured.

Anyway, this design is offered in two versions, with text our without text.

It's been a strange few weeks. My biggest seller, "The Mechanical Squirrels are Watching," has barely sold since I upgraded my CafePress shop. Thankfully "For The Horde" has suddenly decided to picked up the slack. Maybe it's time to create some new World of Warcraft designs?

In even geekier news (if that's possible), Hikaru Utada is doing the theme for the upcoming PS2 game Kingdom Hearts 2! Her track "Simple and Clean" in the original game still sends shivers down my spine - and that it's attached to one of the best games released for this generation of game consoles doesn't hurt either. Go, Hikki, Go!

AlienSkies vs Tibetan Yak

This weekend I'm suffering the eternal boredom of Ohio, but last weekend it was all about the tibetan yak.

I've been the webmastwer of Yak-Man.com for a while now, and the Yak Man needed some photos of his herd for registration with IYAK. I can't make this up, people.

Things started out well enough - we had Koi, the Welsh Corgi to keep the Yak in line, and it was relatively warm.

The first yak came out, and I soon got over my fear of standing ankle-deep is Yak muck. Each yak was herded one by one into a gate, where they were given ear tags .

Things were going smoothly, and even the ever-vigilant Koi took some time to relax.

Then the males came out.

I'm hard pressed to relate the size of a fully-grown male yak, so let me illustrate with this graphic:

And ever pound was pure mean. For some reason, about half of the males took the raising of my camera as a challenge. This photo was taken through the planks of a fence I managed to pull in front of myself as I was backed into a corner.

The Wooly Yak was a bit more docile. You only get 2 guesses why it's breed is called that.

Then we were done, and my life had only flashed before my eyes twice. On the plus side, I liked what I saw as it did. On the down side, I smelled of yak muck and after a 45 minute shower went shopping for new shoes.
