I have my sister, my best friend and another friend all expecting baby girls in the next 12 to 20 weeks. I also have lots of DK yarn to use up. Can anyone suggest some quick and cute pattens I can use for gifts? I want wearable items rather than toys. I have lots of bookmarks for baby things, but most of them are not modern enough for my friends tastes and some patterns I found seem to knit up too big for a new born.

Warm pie a la mode. But plain cold cake is good too.

5x7 watercolor
I will probably be ebaying the original with a reserve price later in the week, after the holiday. In the meantime it is available from me for $130.
I really do enjoy doing paintings like this. I had already decided to do a kimono series when vestaka posted her koi mermaid. I thought, oh no now I can't do one, but she said I had to :)

I did this on Lantern Moon needles (US8) with 2 skeins of Malabrigo. Can we say "pleasant knitting experience"? To be truthful, I think any project on my Addis makes me happy but Lantern Moon needles are a close second. :)

All I need is a car, a smartphone and a computer with Internet and printing capabilities. All else is overhead.

It won't make a difference until government quits handing out corporate welfare and practicing preferential taxation. Futhermore, government needs to end the gravy train for speculators that was already proven disastrous in the economy of 1930. Until governor stops giving dole outs and bail outs, we're headed on a one way flight to the Second Great Depression.

The question is not so much which, as how badly. As to what they can do to save, cut overhead and streamline. For my business it meant getting the hell out of retail and focusing on service sales.

Yes, and it did blossom into something more. More than once with varied results. Romance tends to fizzle but the friendships usually last for a long time afterwards.
Unless of course the friendship was a ploy to get into my pants, then I just turn vindictive and evil, until I get a sincere apology or my fist to the asshole's face.

If you're knitting a pillowcase, how much bigger would you make it than the pillow that goes in it?

It's really depressing when the Presidential race and the Supreme Court are so full of theocrats and socialists jerks, that McCain actually starts to look like an attractive choice for President. Somebody hand me razor blade.

I totally ignored this when it came out, now I'm finding I really like it.
In other stuff, I'm climbing the walls nervous today. THE ULTRASOUND is today! close to 3pm.
Also, I got a call at 9 this morning from an unknown number. I was so hoping it was a call back from one of the apps I've put in. Wrong number, ugh. :(

| YAY! Jesse Ventura might be running for Senate!!! |
[02 Jul 2008|10:25am] |
As someone who didn't vote for Jesse and thought his campaign was a joke, I actually liked the dude's performance. I liked Arne Carlson better, but let's face it, that governor was nothing less than perfection. People can say all they want about Jesse, but he was entertaining and the Democrats/media despised him. Plus, he was a much better governor than Tim "I want to be McCain's Bitch and build stadiums" Pawlenty. Unfortunately, Jesse was a wuss when it came to dealing with the media. Paul and I were discussing that Senate tends to have a lot less media scrutiny, and it might be better match for him in terms of government jobs.
Norm Coleman has the personality of an ameoba and the backbone of one. He is a classic "spend and spend" (as opposed to tax and spend,) corporate-welfare doling, stadium building, Liberal Minnesota Republican.
The only thing I like about Franken is his stance on Veteran's benefits. I feel that the DLF made a blunder when they picked that obnoxious, has-been celebrity fundraising king over a decent guy like Mike Ciresi. Ciresi was pretty much forced out of the nomination process because everyone in the party was bedazzled by Franken's money SNL credentials and Jack Nelson-Pallmayer's money books that nobody reads.
Anyway... Go Ventura!

Wherever I lay my head down to rest. Preferably in my dome, with the Loki.
Speaking of life on the road like that of Kala Rromi that streams through my blood, the traveling doesn't seem to stop. I just finished a demonstration for summery products at a St. Cloud store. Tomorrow and Thursday, the promotional events are for makeup. I'll get to see mom on Thursday since I'll travel to Little Falls. I have nothing scheduled on the fourth, but it's usually a big day for agencies that need substitutes for events. If that's not the case, I'll have a day off. Saturday will involve promo work in Monticello and modeling at MCAD. Next week, it's toy merchandising for most of the time, Cartoonist Conspiracy on Thursday and modeling for a sculptor on Saturday. Two agencies are wagging 10-12 week long merchandising/promo gigs at me, but alas, I am already fully booked for half of that time period. Cabaret Centerfolds is the week after that, plus my last modeling coop gig for July. Then, on the 23rd, I fly away to Las Vegas, Seattle, with a drive to Portland and back, Utah, then back to Vegas and finally home.
I am liking all this travel, all of my adventures and I am liking even better that my bills are getting paid because of it. How can I not like this job that I have chosen for myself? I am so glad I have a decent loaner while my deer-injured car is in the shop.

| Model and Performance Resume Update |
[01 Jul 2008|09:33am] |
|
Finally, I don't need to link to my enormous Model Mayhem page to show my model resume. My consice updated model and performance resume is now online in PDF format. Speaking of that stuff, I have half an hour to eat and go to the bank before I ride onto my next gig in St. Cloud, MN.
